Prescriptions
Our on-line prescription service is easy to use and convenient for you, you can order your prescriptions at any time day or night.
Please register for our online prescription ordering service by:
- clicking on the link at the top of this page
- clicking on the Repeat Prescriptions button at the bottom of our home page
- at: https://app.patientaccess.com/registration/create
- or at Reception.
You will then be given the information to enable you to create your own username & password to access the service.
If you would like your prescription to be sent electronically to your usual pharmacy please make a note of this in the comments box when you order.
You can also order repeat prescriptions in writing by using the tear off request form from your previous prescription (either bring to the surgery in person or send by post).
If you want your prescription to be returned to you by post please include a stamped addressed envelope.
Please allow at least three (3) working days for us to process your request and order in plenty of time if there are bank holidays coming up or you are going away on holiday.
We do not take repeat prescription requests over the telephone, please do not ask our receptionists to do so as they do not wish to offend you by declining your request.
Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions
Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).
The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
For current NHS charges please visit:

April 2020 charges are:
- current prescription charge – £9.15 per item (Charges are higher for elastic hosiery)
- three-month PPC – £29.65; this will save you money if you need more than three prescribed items in three months
- 12-month PPC – £105.90 (or direct debit of £10.59 per month); this will save you money if you need more than 12 prescribed items in a year
If you will have to pay for four or more prescription items in three months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you may find it cheaper to buy a Pre-Payment Certificate (PPC).
